Grace Kimball, the heroine of my novel, is a mom who has served in the U.S. Air Force. She has two sons; she donated a kidney to her oldest boy before the storyline begins. I also have two sons, and a wonderful daughter-in-law. I retired from the Air Force Reserves with twenty years’ service. I donated a kidney to my husband in 2000.
The hero of Sweet Dreams, Dakota Kohler, is a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist who grew up in rural South Dakota. I also grew up in God’s country. I earned my bachelor’s degree from USD, and my master’s in anesthesia from Mount Marty College in Yankton, S.D. I have worked full-time as a CRNA for over twenty years. In Sweet Dreams, however, Dakota drives a luxury BMW. I only wish. I drive a Pontiac.
My husband and I have been married for thirty-seven years; we share our time in Nebraska and Southern Illinois. We are anxiously awaiting the adoption of our first grandchild – an awesome little girl who captured our hearts the day she entered our lives.
